Hi everyone, if your reading my blog for the first time, I must thank you, as I know people taking the time to actually find quality content, is...I wouldn't say rare but I will say that it should not be taken lightly. With that being said, I wanted to un-ravel my opinion about, what some are calling a Facebook mistake, with user data and how this could have swayed the most recent presidential election. I think a-lot of online marketers would like to have that same success with being able to build a huge customer base of people that could go on stretches of monetary support. Facebook has been able to do that. People really enjoy posting content that they can share with friends and co-workers. Highlights from Mark Zuckerberg's CNN interview https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/21/us/mark-zuckerberg-facebook-latest/index.htmlwww.cnn.com/2018/03/21/us/mark-zuckerberg-facebook-latest/index.html Safety with people's data is something that Facebook can back up I believe, with its systems in place. I think this has just shown them how to be better. I have been told by people that.. "I am scared of Facebook!!" when I ask why? They will say something pertaining to,.. they don't want everyone to know their business. However, I must say I have never faced any issues with Facebook. Outside of navigating their marketing platform, I really have enjoyed my experience, and I am really amazed at what I have been able to do with it thus far. One thing that is very good for Facebook, is this is a teachable moment where they can really improve upon their platform to make people more honest in how they collect data. I think, people know that they are putting certain info out there. To be honest, a level of honesty is respectable, especially when conducting business.
I think this debacle with whether Facebook was used to sway the election, is like the new thing to say. However, people forget that when President Obama was president, the internet influenced those elections using social as the conduit for people to willfully communicate about it. So is automating this process wrong. Of course not! There are some questions maybe on the type choices made to execute this but we all who are business owners would love to just hand over this responsibility of marketing to someone else. I must tell you from experience that this can be an issue. Its really hard to get quality help. Most of us have to do it all ourselves and then evaluate the results, which can be timely. If this sounds like me having faith in Facebook to make a better, safer environment then your right it is!! Evolution is how things get better and we all deserve a chance to make the world a better place. We can only do this through, an even platform of communication and interaction.
